Where do I find my Toshiba TV model number?
On US Toshiba TVs, it's on the back of the TV and on the front of the user manual and quick start guide. On a Fire TV model you can also open Settings > Device & Software > About. In the UK, check the rating label on the back.
Why do US and UK Toshiba TVs differ?
Different companies make them under licence: TVS REGZA, part of the Hisense group, in the US and Vestel in the UK. They use different systems and model codes, so check yours before you choose an app.
Do I need Wi-Fi to use my iPhone as a Toshiba remote?
Yes. Your iPhone and the TV must be on the same home network, and the TV must already be connected to it. Guest networks often stop devices from seeing each other, and a phone app can't help with a TV that has never been online.
How do I know which platform my Toshiba TV runs?
Look at the home screen or the settings menu, which name the platform. Or type your model number into the checker on this page.

About Toshiba smart TVs
Toshiba TVs are made under licence and differ by country. In the US, TVS REGZA (part of the Hisense group) makes them, and every current model runs Fire TV. Toshiba's US Fire TV Edition models started in 2018.
In the UK, Vestel makes Toshiba TVs. They have used Toshiba's own smart TV software, Android TV (2021–2022), Fire TV (from about 2022) and VIDAA (from about 2023).
Toshiba's own UK smart TV platform is not covered.
