How Simple TV Remote works
How your iPhone talks to your TV.
Put your iPhone and TV on the same Wi-Fi network
Your iPhone and TV must be on the same home network, and not a guest network, so they can see each other.
Allow Local Network access on iPhone
Turn on Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › Simple TV Remote, then open the app again.
What the free compatibility check tests
The free check pairs with your actual TV and sends real commands that you confirm on screen, so you know it works before you pay.
Restore your purchase
Open Simple TV Remote, go to Settings and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account.
Why Simple TV Remote can’t control infrared-only TVs
No. iPhones have no infrared (IR) blaster, so an iPhone remote app can only control smart TVs connected to your home network.
