Troubleshooting

Most problems come from the network or one TV setting. Start at the top.

The app asks me to pair again
  1. The TV forgot the pairing, usually after a power cut or Auto Standby with No Signal.
  2. Pair again: type the new 4-digit code shown on the TV.
  3. To make it happen less often, set Auto Standby with No Signal to Off.
The app can't find my TV
  1. Check that your iPhone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Add the TV by its IP address. It's listed under Network Information in the TV's network settings.

How to use your iPhone as a Hisense VIDAA remote

  1. Join the same Wi-FiConnect your iPhone to the same home Wi-Fi as the TV, or the same router if the TV uses a cable. Turn the TV on.
  2. Pick your TVOpen Simple TV Remote and tap your TV in the list.

How do I pair my phone with a Hisense VIDAA TV?

How do I turn on my Hisense VIDAA TV without the remote?

Press the power button on the TV. Hisense says you can use the TV's power button when the remote is missing, though newer models have fewer buttons. To turn it on from your iPhone next time, turn on Wake on LAN first; see the next question.

Can my iPhone turn on my Hisense VIDAA TV?

Yes, from standby, once the TV's wake setting is on. Turn on Wake on Wireless Network if the TV uses Wi-Fi, or Wake on LAN if it uses a cable: Settings > Network on most sets, or Settings > Connection > Network on 2025 sets. It can't turn on a TV that's unplugged; press the power button on the TV then.

My Hisense VIDAA remote isn't working. What can I do?

Put in fresh batteries, then restart the TV with its power button. If the remote still won't respond, check the user manual for your model's remote pairing steps. Meanwhile your iPhone can control the TV over Wi-Fi.

Why does the app ask me to pair my Hisense again?

The TV forgets paired phones after a deep standby: a power cut, being unplugged, or switching itself off because there was no signal (Auto Standby). Type the new 4-digit code the TV shows and you're back in control. To make it happen less often, set Auto Standby with No Signal to Off; on 2025 sets it's at Settings > System > Timer Settings.

Which Hisense VIDAA TVs work with Simple TV Remote?

VIDAA models, which means almost every UK Hisense TV, including the A, E and U ranges and the OLED and Laser TVs, plus the US U6 Pro (U6SV Pro). We tested it on a real UK Hisense VIDAA TV. The free check in the app confirms your TV before you pay.

How do I know if my Hisense runs VIDAA?

Look at the model code on the sticker on the back: UK codes ending in TUK, like 55U7NQTUK, are VIDAA. You can also press Home, open Settings, then Support > About, which shows the VIDAA version.

Is my UK Hisense the same as the US model with the same name?

No. Series names are shared, but the system often isn't. The US 55U7N runs Google TV, while the UK 55U7NQTUK runs VIDAA. Both work with Simple TV Remote.

What can I control on a Hisense VIDAA TV with my iPhone?

Is my UK Hisense the same as the US model?

US and UK models share series names but not software. The US 55U7N runs Google TV. The UK 55U7NQTUK runs VIDAA.

About these TVs

VIDAA is Hisense's own smart TV system. VIDAA, the company, was founded in March 2019 by the Hisense Group, and the system was on Hisense TVs before that.

In the UK, Hisense TVs have run VIDAA since at least 2017, through the A, B, E and U ranges and the OLED and Laser TVs. Hisense UK also sold two Roku TV ranges (B7120 and A7200G). We found no UK Hisense model with Google TV.

Series names are shared with the US, but the platform isn't. The US 55U7N runs Google TV; the UK 55U7NQTUK runs VIDAA. In 2026 Hisense also started selling a VIDAA model in the US, the U6 Pro (U6SV Pro).

Simple TV Remote pairs with these TVs using a 4-digit code shown on the TV. After a deep standby, such as a power cut or Auto Standby with No Signal, the TV forgets the pairing and you pair again. Turning the TV on from your phone needs Wake on LAN, or Wake on Wireless Network on Wi-Fi, and works from standby only.
