TV platforms
Simple TV Remote works with six TV platforms. Your TV’s platform matters more than its brand, because each one has its own way to be controlled over Wi-Fi.
Questions
What is a TV platform?
It’s the software your smart TV runs, like Google TV, LG webOS, Samsung Tizen or Roku TV. It decides the home screen, the apps and how a phone can control the TV.
Which platforms does Simple TV Remote work with?
Google TV and Android TV, LG webOS, Samsung Tizen (2016 and later), Vizio SmartCast, Panasonic My Home Screen and Roku TV.
How do I know which platform my TV runs?
Look at the home screen or the settings menu, which name it. Or type your model number into the checker on our compatibility page.
Does it matter which brand made the TV?
Less than you’d think. A TCL, Hisense or Sharp TV can run Google TV or Roku TV, and the remote works the same way on each.
What can I do on each platform?
Navigation, volume and mute and turning the TV off work on all six. Typing, opening apps, switching inputs and turning the TV on from standby depend on the platform; each platform page lists what works.
Do I need to change any settings on the TV?
Sometimes one. To turn the TV on from your iPhone, the TV’s network standby setting has to be on. Each platform and model line page shows the exact menu.
Check your TV free. Pay once if it works.
Simple TV Remote pairs with your TV and sends real commands before you pay anything. If it works, unlock it for $5.99, once.
