Eco Mode is the default. In Eco Mode the TV can't be turned on over Wi-Fi.
Turn on Quick Start (VIZIO OS menu)
The other choice is Energy Save, which turns the network off in standby.

Older menus put it at Menu > System > Power Mode. Quick Start uses more power in standby than Eco Mode or Energy Save.

Troubleshooting
Most problems come from the network or one TV setting. Start at the top.
I can't find my model number
- Press Menu, then open All Settings, System or Help (it depends on the model).
- Open Admin & Privacy, System Information or TV Information.
- Or check the label on the back of the TV or the side of the box.
The app can't find the TV
- Make sure the TV and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network.
- Turn the TV on. In Eco Mode or Energy Save the TV is not on the network while it is off.
- Restart the TV: unplug it for 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
The PIN doesn't appear or is rejected
- Keep the TV on during pairing. Community reports say the TV can forget the PIN if it was off when pairing started.
- Remove old phones under Menu > System > Mobile Devices, then try again.
The TV won't turn on from the app
- Set Menu > System > Power Mode (or Menu > All Settings > System > Power Mode) to Quick Start.
- Wake only works from standby. It never works after a power cut or when the TV is unplugged.

How do I connect my iPhone to a Vizio OLED TV?
Put your iPhone and TV on the same Wi-Fi, open Simple TV Remote and pick your TV. Follow the prompt on the TV once, and the app remembers it.
Where is the model number on a Vizio TV?
Open Menu > All Settings > System. Then open Admin & Privacy, System Information or TV Information (the name depends on the model). The model and serial number are listed there. It’s also on the label on the back of the TV.
Can I type on my Vizio OLED TV from my iPhone?
Yes, in most search boxes. We have not found a documented way to type into on-screen keyboards.
Why can’t the app find my Vizio TV?
Make sure the TV is on and on the same Wi-Fi as your iPhone, not a guest network, and turn off any VPN on your iPhone. If it still doesn’t show up, restart the TV and your router, then check Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network on your iPhone.
Do I need an IR blaster or extra hardware?
No. Simple TV Remote talks to your TV over your home Wi-Fi. iPhones have no infrared, so TVs without a network connection can’t be controlled.
