Vizio TVs 2016–2023 V655J09 - `V`Series (V, M, P, E, D) - `65`Screen size class in inches - `5`Tier within the series - `J`Model year (J = 2021) - `09`Variant Year letters: D 2016, E 2017, F 2018, G 2019, H 2020, J 2021, K 2022, L 2023. The letter I is skipped. These letters match the years in Vizio's press releases. Vizio TVs 2024 and later V4K65M0804 - `V`Vizio TV - `4K`Line (4K, QD = Quantum 4K, QM = Mini LED Quantum, QP = Quantum Pro, FD = Full HD, HD = HD, FQ/HQ = Quantum Full HD/HD) - `65`Screen size class - `M`Variant letter (M, C, S, X, R seen) - `0804`Hardware generation and variant Vizio does not publish what the variant letter means. Treat it as part of the exact model code. ## Troubleshooting Most problems come from the network or one TV setting. Start at the top. I can't find my model number 1. Press Menu, then open All Settings, System or Help (it depends on the model). 2. Open Admin & Privacy, System Information or TV Information. 3. Or check the label on the back of the TV or the side of the box. The app can't find the TV 1. Make sure the TV and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network. 2. Turn the TV on. In Eco Mode or Energy Save the TV is not on the network while it is off. 3. Restart the TV: unplug it for 60 seconds, then plug it back in. The PIN doesn't appear or is rejected 1. Keep the TV on during pairing. Community reports say the TV can forget the PIN if it was off when pairing started. 2. Remove old phones under Menu > System > Mobile Devices, then try again. The TV won't turn on from the app 1. Set Menu > System > Power Mode (or Menu > All Settings > System > Power Mode) to Quick Start. 2. Wake only works from standby. No. Simple TV Remote talks to your TV over your home Wi-Fi. iPhones have no infrared, so TVs without a network connection can’t be controlled. ## About these TVs The D-Series is Vizio's entry line, mostly 24 to 43 inches. It moved to SmartCast in 2018. The 2016 and 2017 D-Series used VIZIO Internet Apps Plus instead, which is a different platform this page does not cover. In 2024 Vizio renamed its small TVs to HD (VHD) and Full HD (VFD) with the new code scheme.
