## What works

My Home Screen is Panasonic's own smart TV software. Panasonic launched the first TVs running Firefox OS, which it built with Mozilla, in Europe in 2015. After Mozilla stopped work on Firefox OS for TVs, Panasonic kept developing the software under the My Home Screen name.

## Set up

Pairing takes about a minute, once per TV. Each model line’s page has the exact TV menus.

    Connect the TV to the same Wi-Fi network (or the same router by Ethernet) as your iPhone.

    Set it to On. Only needed if you want to turn the TV on from your iPhone. Some UK models call this Powered On by Apps.

4.  ### Type the PIN shown on your TV

    Newer Panasonic software asks for a PIN the first time a phone connects. Type it in Simple TV Remote. To remove old phones, use Delete All Pairings in TV Remote App Settings.

## Troubleshooting

Simple TV Remote can't find the TV

1.  Check that your iPhone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network.
2.  On the TV, open Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings and check that TV Remote is On.
3.  Check Menu > Network > Network Status on the TV and run the connection test if it shows an error.

The TV doesn't show a PIN, or the PIN is refused

1.  Make sure the TV is on and showing a picture, not in standby, when you start pairing.
2.  Type the PIN within a few seconds; the TV only shows it briefly.
3.  If it keeps failing, open TV Remote App Settings, choose Delete All Pairings, and pair again.

The app can't turn the TV on

1.  Turn on the wake option in Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings (Wake on LAN / Wireless LAN, or Powered On by Apps).
2.  Turn the TV off with the remote, not at the mains switch or the wall. A TV that has been switched off at the mains can't be woken over the network.
3.  If the TV is on Wi-Fi and won't wake, try connecting it by Ethernet.

## How to use your iPhone as a Panasonic TV remote

1.  **Join the same Wi-Fi**Connect your iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network as your Panasonic TV, or the same router if the TV uses a cable.
2.  **Turn on TV Remote**On the TV, go to Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings and set TV Remote to On.
3.  **Let your iPhone turn the TV on (optional)**On the same screen, turn on Wake on LAN / Wireless LAN. Some UK models call it Powered On by Apps.

## About Panasonic My Home Screen

Panasonic used My Home Screen on most of its 4K LCD and OLED TVs in the UK and Europe through 2023 (My Home Screen 8.0). From 2020 Panasonic also sold some Android TV models, and from 2023 it moved most of its range to Fire TV built in.

Panasonic TVs can be controlled from a phone on the same home network once TV Remote is turned on in TV Remote App Settings. Panasonic's eHELP for 2017–2019 models lists the same screen with options to wake the TV over the network and to delete all paired devices.

Panasonic sold very few TVs in the US between about 2014 and 2024, so most My Home Screen TVs are UK, European and Canadian models.
