## What works

Panasonic My Home Screen models from 2016–2023.

- Navigation and OK
- Volume and mute
- Switch inputs
- Turn off
- Turn on from standbyNeeds Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings > TV Remote turned on, plus the wake option on that screen (Wake on LAN / Wireless LAN in Panasonic's 2017–2019 eHELP; Powered On by Apps on some UK sets). Works from standby only, not after the TV is switched off at the mains.

## On your TV

Turn these on once with your TV remote. Menu names can differ slightly by year and region.

1. ### Put your iPhone and TV on the same network

Connect the TV to the same Wi-Fi network (or the same router by Ethernet) as your iPhone.

2. ### Turn on TV Remote

Menu **›** Network **›** TV Remote App Settings **›** TV Remote

Set it to On. This lets apps on your home network control the TV.

3. ### Let your phone turn the TV on

    For turn on from standby

Menu **›** Network **›** TV Remote App Settings **›** Wake on LAN / Wireless LAN

Set it to On. Some UK models call this Powered On by Apps. Only needed if you want to turn the TV on from your iPhone.

4. ### Type the PIN shown on your TV

Newer Panasonic software shows a PIN the first time a phone connects. Type it in Simple TV Remote.

## In the app

Pairing takes about a minute, once per TV.

Panasonic's eHELP describes it as letting network equipment such as a smartphone control the TV.

4. ### Type the PIN shown on your TV

Newer Panasonic software asks for a PIN the first time a phone connects. Type it in Simple TV Remote. To remove old phones, use Delete All Pairings in TV Remote App Settings.

### Can’t find your TV? Add it by IP address

If your TV doesn’t show up in the app, tap “Can’t find it?” and type the TV’s IP address. Here’s where the TV shows it.

1. ### Find the TV's IP address

    2017–2019 models

Menu **›** Network **›** Network status

The status screen lists the IP Address; it looks like 192.168.1.23.

## Models

145 model codes from 2016–2023 for United Kingdom. Codes are exact for their region. ·· stands for the screen size, so TX-··DX600B covers TX-40DX600B, TX-49DX600B and so on.

**United Kingdom:** UK codes end in B or BZ (for example TX-55LZ980B). European models use other suffixes such as E or EC.

**Canada:** Panasonic sold some My Home Screen models in Canada (for example TC-65GZ2000C). They are not listed here yet.

**United States:** Panasonic did not sell TVs in the US for about a decade before 2024, so there are no US My Home Screen models.

## Troubleshooting

Most problems come from the network or one TV setting. Start at the top.

The app can't find the TV

1. Check that your iPhone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network.
2. Open Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings and make sure TV Remote is On.
3. Restart the TV by holding the power button on the TV for 5 seconds or more, then try again.

The app can't turn the TV on

1. Turn on Wake on LAN / Wireless LAN (or Powered On by Apps) in TV Remote App Settings.
2. Turn the TV off with the remote, not with the mains power switch.
3. If the TV uses Wi-Fi and won't wake, try an Ethernet cable.

My TV doesn't have TV Remote App Settings

1. Check the model number. If it ends in JX800, LX800, LX650, LX660, MX650, MZ700 or MZ800, your TV runs Android TV; see the Panasonic Android TV page.

Simple TV Remote can't find the TV

1. Check that your iPhone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network.
2. On the TV, open Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings and check that TV Remote is On.
3. Check Menu > Network > Network Status on the TV and run the connection test if it shows an error.

The TV doesn't show a PIN, or the PIN is refused

1. Make sure the TV is on and showing a picture, not in standby, when you start pairing.
2. Type the PIN within a few seconds; the TV only shows it briefly.
3. If it keeps failing, open TV Remote App Settings, choose Delete All Pairings, and pair again.

The app can't turn the TV on

1. Turn on the wake option in Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings (Wake on LAN / Wireless LAN, or Powered On by Apps).
2. Turn the TV off with the remote, not at the mains switch or the wall. A TV that has been switched off at the mains can't be woken over the network.
3. If the TV is on Wi-Fi and won't wake, try connecting it by Ethernet.

## Questions

Is there a Panasonic My Home Screen TV remote app for iPhone?

Yes. Simple TV Remote is a Panasonic My Home Screen TV remote app for iPhone that works with Panasonic My Home Screen TVs running Panasonic My Home Screen. It pairs over your home Wi-Fi and sends real commands in a free check, so you know it works on your exact TV before you pay $5.99, once.

Can my iPhone turn on a Panasonic My Home Screen TV?

Yes, from standby. Needs Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings > TV Remote turned on, plus the wake option on that screen (Wake on LAN / Wireless LAN in Panasonic's 2017–2019 eHELP; Powered On by Apps on some UK sets). Works from standby only, not after the TV is switched off at the mains. No app can turn on a TV that is unplugged.

Which Panasonic TVs have My Home Screen?

In the UK, most 4K LCD and OLED models from 2016 to 2023: the DX, EX, FX, GX and HX ranges, the JZ, LZ and MZ980/1500/2000 OLEDs, and the JX850, JX870, JX940 and MX950. Some models from 2021 to 2023 run Android TV or Fire TV instead.

Where do I find TV Remote App Settings?

Press Menu, open Network, then TV Remote App Settings. Turn TV Remote on. Panasonic's eHELP for 2017–2019 models shows this path.

Will my older Panasonic get a newer My Home Screen?

Usually not. Panasonic kept each model on its launch version family; reviewers reported that 5.0 and 6.0 were not offered to earlier models.

Is my Panasonic OLED a My Home Screen TV?

UK Panasonic OLEDs from 2017 to 2023 run My Home Screen, except the 2023 MZ700 and MZ800, which run Android TV.

Which Panasonic My Home Screen models work with Simple TV Remote?

Panasonic My Home Screen TVs from 2016–2023 work, including the DX600, DX650, DX700, DX750, DX802, DX902, EX580, EX600 series sold in United Kingdom. Search for your exact model code in the table on this page.

How do I connect my iPhone to a Panasonic My Home Screen TV?

Put your iPhone and TV on the same Wi-Fi, open Simple TV Remote and pick your TV. Accept the prompt on the TV with your TV remote once, and the app remembers it.

Where is the model number on a Panasonic TV?

Open Menu > Help > Device information. The Help menu also shows the software version. It’s also on the label on the back of the TV.

Can I type on my Panasonic My Home Screen TV from my iPhone?

Yes, in most search boxes. We have not confirmed that typed text reaches the TV's on-screen keyboard.

Why can’t the app find my Panasonic TV?

Make sure the TV is on and on the same Wi-Fi as your iPhone, not a guest network, and turn off any VPN on your iPhone. If it still doesn’t show up, restart the TV and your router, then check Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network on your iPhone.

Do I need an IR blaster or extra hardware?

No. Simple TV Remote talks to your TV over your home Wi-Fi. iPhones have no infrared, so TVs without a network connection can’t be controlled.

## About these TVs

This page covers Panasonic UK TVs that run Panasonic's own smart TV software, My Home Screen: most 4K LCD and OLED models from 2016 to 2023. Panasonic built the first versions on Firefox OS with Mozilla and later developed it alone.

Not every Panasonic TV from those years has My Home Screen. In the UK, the 2021 JX800, 2022 LX800, LX650 and LX660, and 2023 MX650, MZ700 and MZ800 run Android TV; the 2023 MX800 runs Fire TV; and basic models such as the JX600, LX600 and MX600 run a simpler Panasonic Linux platform.

Panasonic's eHELP lists a TV Remote App Settings screen under the Network menu, with a TV Remote switch, an option to wake the TV over the network, and a Delete All Pairings option. Simple TV Remote will use this network remote once we have tested it.
