Open Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings and set TV Remote to On. Then pick the TV in Simple TV Remote and type the PIN the TV shows, if it asks for one.

Can my iPhone turn on my Panasonic TV?

Yes, from standby, once the wake setting is on. On My Home Screen TVs it's Menu > Network > TV Remote App Settings > Wake on LAN / Wireless LAN (Powered On by Apps on some UK models). On Android TV models it's Settings > Network & Internet > Remote start via Wi-Fi. It can't wake a TV switched off at the mains.

Check that your iPhone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network, and that TV Remote is On in TV Remote App Settings. Then restart the TV by holding the power button on the TV for 5 seconds or more, and try again.

Do I need Wi-Fi to use my iPhone as a Panasonic remote?

Yes. Your iPhone and the TV must be on the same home network, and the TV must already be connected to it. Guest networks often stop devices from seeing each other, and a phone app can't help with a TV that has never been online.

## About Panasonic smart TVs

Panasonic used its own smart TV software for most of its UK and European range until 2023. It started as Firefox OS, built with Mozilla in 2015, and became My Home Screen, which reached version 8.0 on the 2023 OLEDs.

From 2021 to 2023 Panasonic also sold Android TV models in the UK, such as the JX800, LX800, LX650, MX650, MZ700 and MZ800. Basic models such as the JX600, LX600 and MX600 run a simpler Panasonic Linux platform without apps from Google or Amazon.

Panasonic's first Fire TV model was the UK MX800 in 2023. From 2024 most Panasonic TVs in the UK have Fire TV built in, and UK models with a TB- prefix run TiVo OS. Panasonic returned to the US in September 2024 with Fire TV models after about a decade away.

Panasonic's 2026 line-ups mix platforms by market: Fire TV, Google TV and Roku models in the US (sold through SKYWORTH USA), and Fire TV, Roku and TiVo models in the UK.
